 This is one of Alice's earliest books which was created when she was awarded a Travelling Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. She journeyed to Norway, Sweden, Finland,Lapland and Estonia.
There are thirty designs all created by Alice and they reflect the traditional knitting of the countries she visited. There are coats, jackets, sweaters, vests, dresses and hats including designs for men and children.
There is a chapter on technique as well as interesting facts about the history of knitting design in each country.
This copy is in excellent condition with no writing, marks or tears and it comes complete with dust jacket.
