Araucania Ranco Solid

This is Ranco Solid from Araucania Yarns in Chile. It is hand dyed using traditional methods and each skein is slightly different.The colors are solid with a varigation in depth along the length of the yarn. Ranco comes in 100g skeins with 376 yards to the skein. It knits on US #3 needles at around 7.5 stitches to the inch. It is 75% wool and 25% nylon - the nylon adds a bit of stretch. One skein is sufficient for an adult pair of socks. However, this yarn can be used for much more than socks- it is ideal for cardis and sweaters too!  There are two new shades for Fall 2008
