Marion Foale's Classic Knitwear features thrity designs for men and women.
Marion was part of the UK fashion revolution in the 1960's. Along with Mary Quant, Jean Muir, Sally Tuffin and Barbara Hulanicki, young designers freed British women from twinsets and pleated skirts and gave them a choice of mini skirts and dresses, boots, hot pants and beautiful knitwear.
Marion's patterns use texture to create diamonds, cables and ribs. The garments are all tailored to fit with shaping.
There are sweaters, cardigans, jackets, waistcoats and slipovers.
Marion does not specify any particular brand of wool or cotton, merely the weight. Both 4 Ply and DK wool are used along with fine cotton and heavy cotton.
The book is hardback and is in excellent condition with no marks or writing.
