The Leaves of Grass shawl uses the Pi technique invented by Elizabeth Zimmerman. "Rings" of lace are worked between extreme shaping rows that double your number of stitches. Although this sounds complex, it is in fact easy and the pattern has copious instructions and diagrams.
The completed shawl is 54" in diameter and takes 1376 yards of fingering weight wool. There are 4 double sided pattern pages in booklet formation.
