This is Greystone from the Frangipani Guersney yarn range. It is a pale lilac shade.
Frangipani comes in 500g cones with an approximate yardage of 1200 yards.
If you are knitting in the round, a cone means you will not have joins after each ball - this makes the garment stronger. Also coned yarn is cheaper as balling is an expensive process. The downside to cones is the shipping costs. I am not offering free shipping for Frangipani but, even with shipping added, it is very good value.
The traditional gansey tension is achieved with 2.25 or 2.5 mm needles, but the yarn also works well with larger needles to give a more forgiving fabric.
If you would like a copy of a free pattern for a traditional Gansey that can be knitted either in the round or on two needles, please tick the check box above.
