Ilga Leja's In the Piazza is not quite a sweater and yet it is not really a poncho - it is a hybrid of the two. It is worked in geometric shape in wide ribs that flow into the Basketweave stitch pattern of the main body. Short rows shape the shoulders and a 3-needle-bind-off joins the front to the back, keeping seaming to a minimum. The wide sleeves add drama and flair. There are 3 sizes: * Extra Small / Small : Lower width 26" with a length of 15" at center back * Medium / Large : Lower width 33" with a length of 18.5" at the center back * Large / Extra Large : Lower width 40" with a length of 22" at the center back. You will need between 656 and 1312 yards of a chunky yarn or you can use a DK yarn held double,US #10.50 and #10.75 needles, stitch markers and blocking wires. The pattern has 5 double sided pages together with a front page shown the design in full color. It is housed in a polythene sleeve that is ready punched for filing.
