This is Shetland Heather, a worsted weight yarn from Jamieson of Shetland. These balls are in shade #1060 which is called Cedar and is blend of deep green, maroon and blue. 
The wool is spun from sheep that are raised by the Jamieson family and it is a real traditional yarn.  It knits on US #6-8 needles at  16-22 stitches over 20 -24 rows for a 4" square. 100 yards per 50g ball .
