This is Shetland Heather, a worsted weight yarn from Jamieson of Shetland. These balls are in shade #1030 which is called Eider Duck and is a blend of grey and dull blue shades.
The wool is spun from sheep that are raised by the Jamieson family and it is a real traditional yarn.  It knits on US #6-8 needles at  16-22 stitches over 20 -24 rows for a 4" square. 100 yards per 50g ball .
