The Lotus Shawl was designed to show off the attributes of fantasy yarns
it is an ideal stash and would make a very acceptable gift. It may be worked as shown or made in a smaller version as a neck warmer. It can be as glitzy or plain as you like, the pattern is adaptable to many different yarns and weights.
You will need approximately 175 yards of a mohair based yarn in a solid color and also 150 yards of contrast yarn which can be fancy, multi colored or textured. The shawl can also be made in a fine mohair such as Kidsilk Haze to give a softer effect. Lucy explains how to calculate how much yarn you will need dependent on type.
There are 7 pattern pages with diagrams and also a colored picture of the shawl. The pattern is written row by row and is easy to follow. It is housed in a protective sleeve with punched holes ready for filing.
