This is a new introduction from Rowan for Spring 2009. It is called Lenpur Linen and is 75% Vi Lenpur and 25% Linen.Lenpur is a new textile fibre from a renewable resource: cellulose carefully selected from the branches of special trees. The remarkable properties of wood provide textile materials made from Lenpur with extraordinary properties. Lenpur is truly the best “vegetable fibre produced by man”. The fibres retain the wood’s natural properties. The characteristics of Lenpur are owed to the specific types of timber used for its production. The main differences in Lenpur compared to other cellulose fibres is its softness, its its deodorant properties, and its adsorption characteristics (due to its morphology). When mixed with other fibres, Lenpur is in “mechanical synergy” with them. There are 126 yards per 50g ball and it knits as standard DK on US #6 needles. It is hand wash only. There is a pattern book in support of Lenpur Linen.
