 This capelet was designed By Jane Slicer Smith and is knitted in Trendsetter Merino Sei yarn but you can use any DK weight yarn.
It is worked with one miter and then each additional miter is picked up and connected. A total of 36 mitres are created to form a large center back square. Each miter is worked in two colors. Stitches are then picked up along the edges and worked in variations of Basket stitch. There is no sewing up involved.
You will need 9 balls in a main color, 8 balls in the first contrast color, 2 balls of two additional colors and 1 ball of 3 additional colors.Needles used are UDS #6.
The pattern has a colored photo of the design and full charts for the miter squares and is housed in a polythene sleeve
