Rowan Magazine #52 contains a total of 50 designs from Marie Wallin, Martin Storey, Kaffe Fassett, Sarah Hatton, Sarah Dallas and lots more favourite Rowan designers. It is divided into three sections:
North Sea which contains 20 designs and accessories for men and women. The designs reflect the traditional Guernsey and Aran styles with a modern twist. Key design features are contrast sleeve, split V necks, funnel necks, stand away crew necks and felted trims. Yarns used in this section are Big Wool, Drift, British Sheep Breeds Chunky and Boucle, Lima, Alpaca Chunky, Pure Wool Aran, Kid Classic, Creative Focus Worsted and Alpaca Cotton.
The second section is called Hebridean and contains 18 designs. These are inspired by Fair Isle and Nordic patterning mixed with checks, stripes and tartans. Key details include fringing, contrasting sleeves and trims, Swiss darning and fold back collars. Yarns used are Colourspun, Fine Rowan Tweed, Rowan Tweed, Felted Tweed, Felted Tweed Aran, Wool Cotton, Wool 4 Ply, Pure Wool DK, Cashsoft DK, Kidsik Haze and Kid Classic.
The third section is called Essentials and showcases the key shapes of the season adapted into simplified, easy to wear garments. The trends featured include structured textures, short sleeve sweaters, neat and fitted knits, chunky cardigans, knitted tanks and chunky fisherman's sweaters. Yarns used are Kidsilk Haze, Lima, Wool Cotton, Pure Wool DK, Cashsoft DK, Kid CLassic, Alpaca Cotton, Cocoon, Big Wool, Drift, British Sheep Breeds Boucle, Colourspun.
